how the chinese was treated during japanese occupation

During the Japanese Occupation, all the races were treated very differently. Of all the races, the Chinese were treated very badly. They were punished very severely as the Japanese thought that the Chinese were the greatest threat, because the Chinese helped China to fight the Japanese. The Chinese men, aged between 18 to 50, had to go for an anti-Japanese examination. During the examination, the Japanese would scan the people and identify those whom they thought were anti-Japanese. Those Chinese, whom the Japanese thought were not anti-Japanese, would be taken to the Changi Beach or some other beaches on the east coast. Then, the Japanese would shoot them. Those who were not identified as anti-Japanese were allowed to go home then.
